Research in this area supports the development of an e-design platform
that will seamlessly and dynamically integrate distributed design
objects and engineering tools over the Internet thus ensuring:
• Collaboration among design stakeholders;
• Interoperability of remote and heterogeneous systems; and
• Scalability, extensibility, and portability of engineered tools.
Also an Information Security Management Model is being developed
to cohesively operate with the information infrastructure unit to
ensure that optimal security operational levels exist between users
of the design platform during design sessions and transactions. |
